We are all survivors of the solar flare
We are all survivors of the solar flare. Something enormous happened in space last week that made absolutely no difference to anything anywhere. Hectic. Hope the kids are alright.
Apologies. There was a high frequency radio blackout over Africa for 20 minutes on 3 October. I was cooking to my favourite Kraftwerk track when all lines went dead.
I looked out the window and saw the sun’s radiation arriving on earth as a curtain of light. There were beams folding into a scroll of pure energy that made me dizzy and hot.
Less than one percent of people who experience a geomagnetic storm are able to directly feel the effects of it. I did. Apparently Elon Musk felt it too.
Recovering from the sheer magnitude of the storm, Elon came to the shock realisation that he will never walk on Mars in his life.
It was reported in countless publications, that the guy was frustrated. But he’s resigned to giving what he can to future generations, for holidays in hell.
Thanks Elon, we’ll remember you for that. Tomorrow afternoon, lunch is on us.
